Bachata Night

Looking to learn some news moves on the dance floor? Join us Friday, July 14th from 7-9PM for bachata night! Instructor Charlie will lead an hour long class where you will learn the basics of bachata. After the class, you will be able to try out the new skills you learned with 30 minutes of social dancing. 

Be sure to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable! Keep in mind, bachata includes lots of foot patterns, hip movements, and turns, so wearing something that allows full mobility is key!

Tickets are $25 per person. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

ABOUT CHARLIE:

Like many, Charlie used dance as a tool to challenge himself. “Growing up shy and timid, it was difficult to express myself in words, he explains. “Dance has helped me to step out of my comfort zone. Encouraging me to take a look inwards to learn, literally and figuratively, about myself and those around me. Knowing I was capable of this led to a deep enjoyment for dance.”

Charlie may have discovered his dance abilities later on in life, but that’s not to downplay his apparent natural talent. His movement can be described by many as funky, creative, energetic, and captivating – all qualities in which he brings to his teaching, and as a natural-born hip hop dancer, it only makes sense.

Since starting at Firebeat in 2020, Charlie has grown to teach many of our group classes, from Salsa to Smooth, and even the creation of Ballroom Fusion – a blend of hip hop and ballroom! Charlie’s inclusive approach to teaching and welcoming personality make it easy for dancers, at any level, to feel comfortable learning at their own rate. “I aim to create that safe space for people to learn”, he says. “Discovering themselves and falling in love with dance are bonuses, but my hope is that students do, just like I did.”
